Creating an outline can assist one in writing an essay through giving one a road map to follow as they write their essay. An outline provides the benefits of a road map to follow to keep the essay on track and focused on the points that are relevant to the main premise of the essay. Here's an example of how to create an outline that produces a successful result if duplicated by another:
Introduction
The introduction contains minor details with a background of the main subject, a thesis or hypothesis, and a short outline of the path you will take throughout the essay.
Body
The body of the essay should contain all of your major information following the outline you described in the introduction. This should be the longest portion of your paper and should accomplish the purpose of your paper.
Conclusion
The conclusion finalizes the essay and reiterates the thesis of the essay. This portion will also go over and outline the paper in greater detail than the introduction adding in some of the more complex points discussed in the body of the paper
